WELCOME!

Welcome to traveling children. We are a family of five and like most of the world on a tight budget but still in need of relaxing family time. I also value the experiences of my childhood and feel it is very important for our children to have childhood experiences as well despite the tight budget. So, on a quest for a way to relax and provide these experiences I searched back into my childhood memories and was struck by the fact that most of my favorite memories were of camping. I then began to wonder HOW in the world my dad found the time and energy to take us camping so often and make it such an amazing experience for us. So, I am setting out on a learning quest, husband and children in tow and decided to bring as many other moms, dads, grandparents and, caregivers along for the ride as possible via this blog. The start up may be slow going, but my hope is that one day I will have a site that people who plan to camp with children can visit and get reviews and details related to numerous campgrounds around the country that focus on what is really important when traveling with children. I also hope that once people find out how to make it easier and how much fun it can be that we will see an increase in these fun outdoor activities that will get children and families moving, learning and healthier.
